About these SVG cut files

These free Christmas SVG files are cut designs for Cricut, Silhouette and other cutting machines. Each design comes as a one-color SVG and as a layered SVG, with one cut layer for each color. The set has a tree, a snowflake, a reindeer head, a Santa hat, an ornament and a wreath. There's also a gingerbread man, a candy cane, a snowman and holly. The one-color files are bold shapes with clean cutouts, so they weed quickly. Use them on shirts, mugs, ornaments, cards and gift tags. The PNG version of each design prints well for paper ornaments and cards.

These library pages are free for personal and classroom use. Read the license.

Printing and coloring tips

  • For tree ornaments, cut the snowflake or the ornament from glitter cardstock and thread a ribbon through the top.
  • Mugs and glasses need permanent vinyl. Wash them by hand so the design lasts.
  • Iron-on vinyl for shirts and stockings must be mirrored. Turn on Mirror in Design Space before you cut.
  • The holly and the candy cane stay clear at 2 to 3 inches, which suits gift tags.

Questions and answers

How do I use these Christmas SVG files with Cricut?

In Design Space, choose Upload and pick the SVG. The one-color file comes in as one cut layer, about 10 inches on its longest side. Size it for your ornament, card or shirt, then cut.

What is a layered Christmas SVG?

It is the same design split by color, with each color on its own cut layer. Cut each layer from its own cardstock or vinyl, then stack them on the base.

Which designs work for ornaments and gift tags?

The snowflake, the ornament and the holly stay clear at about 3 inches. The reindeer head needs at least 4 inches for its holly cutouts.

Can I sell Christmas crafts made with these files?

The files are free for personal use, gifts and classrooms. To sell things made with them, email us first. The license page has the details.

How do I add a family name?

Add a text box in Design Space and pick a thick font. Place it under the design, then weld the two so they cut as one piece. The wreath has room for a name in the middle.
